Palmaris is a perennial grass to 3 m tall. It is cultivated in terai region of Nepal. Its whole body is used. It is antiseptic as well as has pleasant smell. Palmaris essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of the fresh partially dried tops of Cymbopogon martini.
