Description

Mentha is widely found in terai region of Nepal, especially far west region. It was adopted and now cultivated for commercial purpose. It is a perennial herb, 60 cm high. Leaves simple, opposite, short stalked, oblong, 2.5-5 cm long obtusely or acutely serrated. Flowers are small and lilac in auxiliary whorls. Fruits nut lets are smooth. It's essential oil is extracted via steam distillation process.
