Description

Mentha is widely found in Terai region of Nepal, especially the far western region. It was adopted and now cultivated for commercial purposes. It is a perennial herb,60cm high. Leaves are simple, opposite, short-stalked, oblong, 2.5 to 5cm long obtusely or acutely serrated. Flowers are small and lilac in auxiliary whorls. Fruits nutlets are smooth. It belongs to the family Labiatae.
